Famous army leader and martyr Károly Knezich lived from 1808-1849. This stamp, part of an ongoing series honoring legendary figures in Hungarian history, depicts the striking three-quarter profile of Knezich over a background of the Battle of Komárom, which took place in April of 1849. The stamp’s face value is HUF 380.
